The LMVA facility is a distributed computing resource comprised of three readily-accessible locations (521 Cooke, 365 NSC, 645 BRB), each of which features high-end graphics terminals, servers, and dedicated research software. The facility also provides access to the SENS UBiquity shared user disk area and shared software repository. Gigabit-rate networking hardware can provide users with Internet II-level connections to other regional resources, such as the Center for Computational Research (CCR) and the New York State Center for Engineering Design and Industrial Innovation (NYSCEDII). North Campus facility: Located in Cooke 521, this location houses 8 Hewlett Packard virtual reality high performance workstations, and two high-end Hewlett Packard PCs. Also, two SGI O2 workstations reside in the laboratory. High quality output from these machines can be generated on an HP LaserJet 4550N color laser printer. South Campus facility: Located in 645 BRB, this location houses two SGI O2 workstations. This facility provides a suite of molecular modeling, simulation and computational chemistry tools that are accessible by student and faculty researchers. The program suite may be accessed directly from these terminals or via telnet from your laboratory. See this link for more information on logging in.
